Dublin Airport is an international airport serving the capitol city of Ireland. The airport is located located 7 km (4.3 miles) north of Dublin city. It is the 12th busiest airport in Europe, and is by far the busiest of Ireland's airports by total passenger traffic.

Workout at the Crowne Plaza

Escape the airport for a few hours and work up a sweat at the Crowne Plaza gym. The Crowne Plaza leisure facilities are usually reserved for guests of the hotel, however Sanctifly premium members can use points to gain access to the fitness centre. Go for a swim at the ALSAA Swimming Pool and Gym

Meditate in the Prayer Rooms

A great way to get away from the chaos of the main terminal is to spend some time in the Prayer Room. Most airports will have multi-faith prayer rooms available for traveling passengers. These are open, inviting spaces where guests are encouraged to be quiet and respectful and take some time for reflection. Choose one of our guided meditation videos, which you can find over on the ‘Videos’ tab and use your airport downtime to relax and centre yourself.

There is a Chapel in Dublin Airport which is a one-minute walk from the Arrivals Hall. Follow the signs for the Interfaith chapel. There also a is a multi-faith prayer room in Terminal 2 on the Departures level.

Dublin Airport’s first plant-based café offers a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian foods, including pastries, signature sandwiches, soups, salads, and hot food bowls.

Located in Terminal 1. Open 7 days a week from 04:00 to 21:00.

Sit Down Meal - Diep Noodle Bar

Diep Noodle Bar has been bringing fresh Thai cuisine to Dublin for 20 years. They offer a wide range of stir fries, curries and noodle dishes. They also cater for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free diets.

Located in the arrivals area of Terminal 2. Open Monday to Sunday from 11:30 to 19:50.

ExcessBaggage provides a luggage storage service at Dublin Airport. Rates are applied per item for the following time periods:

  • €7.00 up to 4 hours

  • €12.50 up to 24 hours 

  • €20.00 up to 48 hours

  • €25.00 up to 72 hours

  • €5.00 for every subsequent day.

Open daily from 05:00 to 23:00. Located in Terminal 1 Arrivals area on the Main Concourse.

Long Layover at DUB

Walk along the beach at Portmarnock Beach

Airports can be quite stressful. If you have the time to get away for a few hours, treat yourself to the beautiful view of the Dublin Mountains and Howth Harbour by taking a stroll on Portmarnock Beach. The beach is 8 km long, adjoins Malahide Beach and stretches to Baldoyle. This is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air during a long layover.

Leave your luggage at ExcessBaggage and take a 12-minute taxi to the beach. Taxis are available directly outside of Terminals 1 and 2.

Run in Santry Park

Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery at Santry Park. The site includes a 72-acre park and a 15-acre linear park on the banks on the Santry river, where there is plenty of space to go for a walk or run.

Opens at 09:00. The closing time depends on the time of year. Please check the www.fingal.ie website.

Located 2.7 miles from the airport. Take the number 16 bus which departs from Stop 7347 outside Terminal 1 or take a 9-minute taxi from Terminals 1 or 2.

Head Downtown

The trip into Dublin City takes approximately half an hour however, depending the on the time of day traffic can be heavy so make sure you give yourself enough time to get back to the airport and through security before your connecting flight. Head to Grafton Street and soak up the energizing atmosphere of the city.

Transport Options

AirCoach: This bus leaves Dublin Airport every 30 minutes between 09:40 to 16:40 and brings you right into the city centre. There are also regular services between 17:25 to 08:55. Hop off at O’Connell street to view Dublin’s famous Spire. Pre-booking online is advised as these buses fill up quickly.

Public Bus: Dublin Bus offers many routes throughout Dublin and operates from the Dublin Airport Bus Park in Zone 15.

Airlink Express: Departs every 15 minutes from 04.45 to 00.30, 7 days a week. Connects with all Dublin transport providers; Dart Stations, Bus Éireann, LUAS, Dublin Bus, and Irish Rail. Their Bus & Travel Information Desk is in T1 Arrivals Hall.

Taxi: Taxis are available from the forecourts directly outside Terminal 1 & Terminal 2. Follow Taxi signage to the designated taxi ranks.
